The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is fully equipped with 26 wards and a fully functioning accident and emergency unit. The hospital is part of the Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust or QE Gateshead. For staff and visitors to the hospital there is a dining hall (Quenellies) which is open from 8.30am until 2pm Monday to Friday. There is also a coffee lounge which provides beverages, sandwiches and hot and cold snacks.
If you require the on site Pharmacy this is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 6pm.

Red zone - bowel screening.
Purple zone - bereavement service (Swan centre), breast screening, chapel, clinical skills, colonoscopy, ear nose & throat, gymnasium, hearing aid clinic, Macmillian nurses (Swan centre), MRI scanner, occupational health (Swan centre), orthotics, physiotherapy, restaurant, staff library, Swan centre, ward 3 (short stay ward), ward 4.

Yellow zone - surgery centre, coffee shop, wards 26 & 27.
