Temple Park Leisure Centre is located on John Reid Road, South Shields, NE34 8QN. Temple Park Centre reception is open Monday to Friday 7am until 10pm; Saturday and Sunday 8am until 5pm. They can be contacted on 0191 456 9119.

Temple Park Centre's sports hall regularly hosts large special events including conferences, marching band competitions, craft markets, antique fairs, dog shows, gymnastic competitions and more.

The Waterline Bar and Function Suite is a self-contained facility within Temple Park Centre. It combines a modern lounge bar with purpose built dance floor, disco console and contemporary lighting effects. The Waterline can cater for up to 70 seated guests or 150 guests for a buffet with dance floor and disco. The Waterline also provides a comfortable location to host meetings, small seminars and presentations.

The swimming pool at Temple Park Centre closed in October 2013 has has been replaced by the new leisure centre Haven Point on Sea Road in South Shields.

Temple Park Centre has indoor courts for 5-a-side football and a floodlit 3G pitch for hire. The indoor sports courts /hall is open Monday to Friday 12 noon until 10pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am until 5pm. The 3G pitch is open Monday to Friday 9am until 10pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am until 5pm. Temple Park Centre offers a football development course suitable for children aged 3 to 10 years old. These 10 week course aim to develop basic fundamentals of football to enhance young children with their skills and abilities in a fun and safe environment. Children will learn the basics of technique, ball control, dribbling, passing, shooting, as well as balance and co-ordination. All coaches are FA qualified, DBS checked and hold first aid qualifications. Football development courses are held outside on the 3G pitch (weather permitting).

Temple Park Centre also offers a goalkeeping programme for children aged 6+. Goalkeeping is a specialist position and successful goalkeeping is based on a sound technique. Their 10 week programme aims to help young shot stoppers to reach their potential. Children will learn handling, footwork, positioning, shot stopping, distribution and one on one. Again all coaches are FA qualified, DBS checked and hold first aid qualifications. Goalkeeping courses are held outside on the 3G pitch (weather permitting).

Bodywise fitness suite (18 years +) is open Monday to Friday 7am until 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.30am until 4.30pm. Junior Bodywise (14 years + accompanied by an adult) is open Monday to Friday 7am until 9pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.30am until 4.30pm. Junior Bodywise (14 years + unaccompanied) Monday to Friday 3.30pm until 5.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.30am until 4.30pm.

Temple Park Centre has it's own on-site car park which costs 70p for a whole day of parking.

Not driving? Temple Park Centre is covered by local bus routes 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 12, 20 (from 25th Janaury 2015), 30, 35 (until 25th January 2015) and E6. All of these buses can be boarded from South Shields town centre at the bottom of our street.
